Approved for public hearing amendments to15 NCAC 7H .2300 Existing Bridge Replacement General Permit, to streamline the CAMA general permit process for replacing existing bridges.

Approved for public hearing amendments to15 NCAC 7H .0104 Development Initiated Prior to Adoption by the CRC, which would allow limited development on lots created on or after June 1, 1979, using the erosion rate in place at the time the lot was platted, if application of the current erosion rate in the calculation of the development setback would preclude the placement of permanent buildings. Structures would be limited to 2,000 square feet total floor area, and could not be any further seaward than adjacent structures.

Adopted amendments to15 NCAC 7B .0901 CAMA Land Use Plan Amendments, which clarifies that the public noticing and hearing requirements for land use plan amendments.

Adopted amendments to15 NCAC 7H .0205 Coastal Wetlands, which would allow the Commission to regulate certain types of marsh mowing. The amendments limit the height to which marsh could be cut – no less that 6 inches between December and March and no less than 2 feet the remainder of the year. The clippings must be left in place and a path no wider than four feet may be cut to the water.

Certified a Land Use Plan for the Town of North Topsail Beach.

Certified a Land Use Plan for the Town of Windsor.

Denied a variance to Herman Blizzard of New Hanover County, who sought relief from Commission’s rules requiring a 15-foot setback from adjacent riparian corridors in order to construct a freestanding mooring piling on property in Wrightsville Beach.

Voted to extend the Commission’s 120-day time limit to make a final decision in Taylor v. DCM.

Accepted the Coastal Habitat Protection Plan annual report.
